The Pre-Professional division is our most advanced division of The Rhythm Ensemble. For advanced/ pre-professional dancers, this program is both a training and performance focused program. Dancers will work on tap technique, improvisation, music theory, live music sessions, history, company repertoire (choreography), and historical repertoire, as well as work with various artists in residence. Interested dancers must audition for a spot in The Rhythm Ensemble. Open to dancers ages 14 & up, the aim of this division is to transition dancers into the professional community.
The Rhythm Ensemble program consists of a one year program, split into three term. Dancers do not need commit to the full year in order to participate in the program, but it is strongly recommended in order to maintain consistency in their training. Dancers must commit to (a) full term(s) and drop-ins will not be accepted. The terms are split as follows:
Term One: September- November
Term Two: December- February
Term Three: June- August
The cost of the Pre-Professional division is $300+HST per term.
Training sessions will take place every Sunday, beginning on Sunday, September 13th running out of The Dance Shoppe in Milton located at 725 Main Street E. In the months of July and August, training sessions will move to Thursday evenings. Due to COVID-19 safety protocols and procedures the Pre-Professional division will not be overlapping with the Apprentice division for term one to allow for small class sizes. We will be running on a modified schedule as follows.
Term One: Sundays from 10:00am-12:30pm
Term Two: Sundays from 10:30am-1:00pm*
Term Three: Sundays from 10:30am-1:00pm (June) and Thursdays from 7:30pm-10:00pm (July & August)
*It is our hope to run the term two schedule as stated above, however term two may run on the same schedule as term one based on health and safety guidelines. We will make this decision in early November to allow dancers to plan and modify their term commitment if need be.
