We are excited to return to the studio and start classes for our fifth season! Things will be a bit different for a while, but we can't wait get back to dancing in the studio. We have implemented some safety protocols and procedures that we expect everyone to follow in order to keep our dancers safe and healthy.

For the health and safety of everyone, we ask that dancers remain appropriately distanced at all times while in the studio. Mandatory screening will be put in place for all dancers entering the studio. Masks will be required in all common areas but are not mandatory while dancing. Change rooms will temporarily be closed. We ask that all students come dressed in their dance attire for class with their own water bottle already filled with water and one bag large enough to contain all their belongings. Dancers will be asked to put all their belongings in their bag and bring it into the studio with them. The studios have been marked off to allow for appropriate physical distancing when dancing and company sizes will be limited to keep in line with government and public health & safety mandates. Dancers will be allowed to use the washrooms. The studio and washrooms will be sanitized after every division. Dancers will enter through the front doors and exit through the back doors to limit contact between cohorts. Unfortunately NO parents are allowed in the building at this time unless you need to use the washroom.

Below are our detailed COVID-19 safety protocols and procedures.

scheduling during stage 3

To abide by the government and health & safety mandates in reference to classroom size, we have made some temporary adjustments to the schedule which will be in effect for term one of The Rhythm Ensemble's 2020-2021 season. We will re-assess the situation before each term to see if the schedule will revert back to our previous model, or stay the same.

  • The Pre-Professional division and Apprentice division will no longer overlap for their hour of choreography to allow for small class sizes and appropriate physical distancing. Both divisions will still receive their 2.5 hour training session time.

  • The Pre-Professional division will begin half an hour earlier to accommodate the schedule.

  • Start and end times for the Apprentice division and Junior Ensemble have also been modified to accommodate the schedule.

  • 15 minutes will be allotted between each division to allow for sanitation of the studio and bathrooms, limit contact between divisions, and allow time for screening.
