COVID-19

UPDATE

We are excited to return to the studio and start classes for our sixth season! While we continue to navigate our COVID-19 world, we have implemented some safety protocols and procedures that we expect everyone to follow in order to keep our dancers safe and healthy.

For the health and safety of everyone, we ask that dancers remain appropriately distanced at all times while in the studio. The studios have been marked off to allow for appropriate physical distancing when dancing and company sizes will be limited to keep in line with government and public health & safety mandates. Dancers will be required to fill out a pre-screening form before entering the studio each week. Masks are required in the common areas. Dancers are required to sanitize their hands and receive a contactless temperature check upon entering the building. While dancing (and remaining distanced), dancers have the option to remove their mask but can choose to keep them on if they feel more comfortable. Please speak to your dancer about your preference for this.

Below are our detailed COVID-19 safety protocols and procedures.

BEFORE COMING TO THE STUDIO

Dancers and a parent/ guardian (if under 18) must sign our COVID-19 waiver before being allowed to participate in any Rhythm Ensemble activities.

You may not enter the facility if:

  • You have traveled outside Canada in the last 14 days.

  • You have symptoms of COVID-19 or are feeling unwell.

  • Someone in your household has had COVID-19 symptoms in the past 14 days.

  • Anyone in your household has been exposed to someone who has, or is recovering from COVID-19.

Dancers must complete the online pre-screening form before attending any in-person classes. The Rhythm Ensemble will take a contactless temperature check prior to entering the classroom.

SYMPTOMS OF COVID -19

  • Fever

  • Dry cough

  • Sore Throat

  • Diarrhea

  • Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye)

  • Headache

  • Loss of taste or smell

  • Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath

  • A rash on skin that is unknown

IN-STUDIO PROCEDURES

  • Dancers may enter the building through the front doors 5-10 minutes prior to their class start time. If you arrive earlier, please wait in your car to limit contact in within the studio. Please respect this time window to allow time for appropriate screening.

  • Masks are required in all common areas and to enter the building.

  • The Rhythm Ensemble staff will check your online pre-screening form and complete contactless temperature check. For the safety of all involved, dancers who have not been cleared will not be permitted into this classroom.

  • Dancers will use the hand sanitizer provided, place their outdoor shoes and belongings in their bag, and proceed to studio 4.

  • Dancers will enter the classroom, place their bag in their designated spot, remove their mask (if they choose to), and proceed to a marked off square.

  • Once class is complete, dancers will proceed to their bag, put their mask back on, collect their belongings, and sanitize their hands upon leaving the classroom.

  • After class, dancers must leave the studio immediately. Please ensure that you are picking up your dancers on time so they are not waiting around.

  • Parents are asked to wait in their cars when picking up dancers and not enter the building.

HEALTH AND SAFETY

  • If at any time a dancer is not feeling well, the dancer will be taken out of class and brought to the staff room. Parents/Guardians will be called and asked to pick up their dancer immediately.

  • It is the responsibility of all parents to notify the studio if a dancer, family member in the household, or any direct contact has come down with, or tested positive for COVID-19. If this does occur, the studio will send out an email notifying everyone immediately. The studio will shut down for thorough cleaning and will not re-open until approved by the Halton Health and Safety Department. Any person in direct contact with the suspected individual will be responsible for getting a COVID-19 test before coming back to the studio.

CLOSURES & REFUNDS

In the event of a government mandated closure, dancers will be refunded for any and all classes missed at the following rates:

  • Pre-Professional division: $25/ class

  • Apprentice division: $22/ class

  • Junior Ensemble: $15/ class

This is also applicable to dancers who may have to miss class for reasons due to COVID-19 (i.e., Positive COVID test, close contact of confirmed COVID case, isolating while waiting for COVID test results). Refunds will not be issued for any classes missed due to non-COVID related absences.

THE RHYTHM ENSEMBLE THANKS EVERYONE FOR THEIR CONTINUED SUPPORT. OUR GOAL IS TO HAVE OUR DANCERS CONTINUE DANCING IN A SAFE AND HEALTHY ENVIRONMENT. WE WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR THE EVER CHANGING CLIMATE, KEEPING IN LINE WITH GOVERNMENT AND HEALTH & SAFETY PROTOCOLS AND WILL INFORM OUR FAMILIES OF ANY CHANGES AS THEY COME IN TO EFFECT.
